Spoiler alert: Bradley Cooper won't be at the Grammy Awards—or on the arm of Lady Gaga—tonight. Womp, womp.
But the director/star of A Star Is Born has a good reason for skipping out. He's actually across the pond accepting the award for Best Original Music—and hobnobbing with Will and Kate—at the BAFTAs. (That's the British Academy of Film and Television Awards, for anyone who's a newbie.)
Don't worry: He's still got Gaga on his mind. Cooper thanked her profusely in his acceptance speech on stage, per the Daily Mail: “I got to fulfill a dream I never thought would happen,” he said. “I share this with Lady Gaga tonight, the music was the heartbeat of this film.” Aw.
He also shouted out to the other leading lady of his life, girlfriend Irina Shayk, adding: “I also need to thank Irina for putting up with me while I was trying to make music in our basement for a year.”
