The Trailer for Olivia Wilde's Directorial Debut ‘Booksmart’ Is Here (and It Looks So, So Good)

Save the (late spring) date: Olivia Wilde's directorial debut Booksmart is due in theaters on May 24 and the trailer just officially dropped.

The film follows a couple of over-achieving besties (Kaitlyn Dever and Beanie Feldstein) who realize on the eve of their graduation that they may have hit the books a little too hard throughout their high school career. The solution? To live it up and break all the rules in one epic, but totally memorable, night.

So far, the response from critics has been glowing after a sneak peek at SXSW this month.

And we have to admit, we're already super fans of Olivia. Why? Not only is she refreshingly honest about being a mom to her son, Otis, and daughter, Daisy, but she's also smart and funny, not to mention hugely empowering when it comes to building up other women.

Also worth noting: Olivia's hubby, Jason Sudeikis, and Friends alum Lisa Kudrow both appear in the film.

Too soon to call it the new Ladybird? Time will tell.
