It’s official: Billie Lourd is getting married.
The 27-year-old American Horror Story: 1984 and Booksmart actress is engaged to boyfriend (er, fiancé) Austen Rydell, whom she’s been dating since 2017. Rydell broke the news on June 25 on (where else?) Instagram, posting a series of photos of the couple, along with the caption, “She said YES!! (Actually she said ‘Duhhh’) But I guess that’s even better than yes?!?”
According to People, Lourd and Rydell dated off and on when they were younger. They got back together for good in 2017, a few months after Lourd broke up with then-boyfriend Taylor Lautner (her Scream Queens co-star), whom she was dating when her mother (Carrie Fisher) and grandmother (Debbie Reynolds) both died in December 2016.
Lourd and Rydell were first seen together in October 2017, when Rydell accompanied Lourd on a family trip to Norway one year after her mother’s death. And on August 9, 2019, he posted an Instagram saying it was their anniversary, clearing up any speculation about whether or not they were a couple.
Rydell, 28, is also an actor and producer. Since reconnecting, the two have traveled together and even share a puppy, named Pony. (We imagine Pony is overjoyed at the news.)
