HBO Confirms the Nicole Kidman Leak About When to Expect ‘Big Little Lies’ Season 2

HBO just confirmed Nicole Kidman's suspicions, and announced via press release that Big Little Lies season two is back this June.

Celeste Wright may have to keep her lips sealed on the show, but Kidman spilled the beans about when the HBO show’s second season will arrive back in December.

“It’s looking like June. I think June,” Kidman told Andy Cohen during a surprise appearance with husband Keith Urban on CNN’s New Year’s Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen on Monday night. Turns out, she was spot-on.

According to HBO, season two "explores the malignancy of lies, the durability of friendships, the fragility of marriage and, of course, the vicious ferocity of sound parenting. Relationships will fray, loyalties will erode…and the potential for emotional and bodily injury shall loom." Dun dun dun.

The show was originally meant for a one-season run with the plot of the novel by Liane Moriarty all tied up by the twist finale. Season two will continue to follow the housewives of Monterey, California, after the surprise ending. Citing fans’ calls for the show to continue, Kidman said the network reconsidered.

Kidman will star opposite BLL newcomer Meryl Streep (!!), who plays Mary Louise Wright, aka Celestes mother-in-law (*dun dun dun*). If Mary Louise is anything like her son, we’re hoping Celeste runs for the hills.

Luckily, we only have four months ’til we find out what happens.
