The trailer opens on Bonnie, who is struggling to cope with her role in Perry’s (Alexander Skarsgård) death. “I’m having a hard time with the whole thing. It’s gonna get us all,” she says. Then clarifies, “The lie.”
The clip goes on to introduce Mary Louise (Meryl Streep), who isn’t buying Celeste’s story about the night of the accident. “You left some things out, didn’t you?” she asks. “You were planning to leave him the very night he died.”
To make matters worse, Jane is at a crossroads with her son, Ziggy (Iain Armitage), and appears to come clean about the identity of his real father (aka the late Perry Wright). “I know you have to protect your boys, but I can’t lie to him anymore,” she tells Celeste.
So, will the Monterey Five stick together? Or will they betray one another to save themselves? Guess we’ll have to wait until season two of BLL returns to HBO on Sunday, June 16, at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
