You don’t become the head of the Big Little Lies makeup department without knowing pretty much everything there is to know about beauty. So, when we met with Michelle Radow to talk about her work on the hit HBO series, we just had to ask for a voyeuristic glimpse into her personal makeup bag.
Radow happily obliged and disclosed her eight go-to products. The best part? They’re all reasonably priced!
When it comes to curling her lashes, Radow doesn’t bother with pricey tools. Instead, she reaches for this Japanese curler that’s a total bargain.
Radow uses this under her eyes and says the result are “magic.” The number one mistake she sees is when people apply too much makeup, resulting in a cakey look. “Be gentle, especially under the eyes,” she advises.
This is the makeup guru’s “go-to mascara.” The drugstore steal is also a favorite of Beyoncé’s former makeup artist. We’re starting to suspect that Diorshow's $30 price tag might not be worth it…
“I apply daily to help thicken my brows. It really works,” Radow shared. Consider us intrigued.

Radow calls this the optimal tool “for definition.” Not only that, she says, it “keeps my brows in place.” That’s what we like to hear.
“These blushes are so creamy. [They] stay put and pack color,” she explains. When doing her own makeup, Radow opts for the Honey shade.
She reaches for the Lolita hue when she needs a “neutral with a pop of color.”
Radow says, “[This is] an all-around must for me. [It’s a] skin hydrator, lip balm, under eye cream, cuticle cream” and more. You can even mix it with any other pigmented product to make a tinted lip balm, she notes. Inexpensive and dual-purpose? We just added to cart.
