Laura Dern Just Accidentally Revealed a Major ‘Big Little Lies’ Season 3 Spoiler

*Warning: Spoiler alert*

If you watched the Big Little Lies finale last night, then you know there’s still so much left to explore. What happened when Bonnie (Zoë Kravitz) and the rest of the Monterey Five turned themselves in? Will Renata (Laura Dern) divorce Gordon (Jeffrey Nordling)? Will Nathan (James Tupper) take Bonnie’s words to heart? So. Many. Questions. Well, unfortunately for us, Dern just insinuated that we may never get the answers we want, no, need from a potential season three.

It all started when Reese Witherspoon, who played Madeline in the series, shared a photo on Instagram from the show’s final episode.

She captioned the pic of herself posing with her on-screen husband, Adam Scott (Ed), and on-screen daughters, Abigail (Kathryn Newton) and Chloe (Darby Camp), “Madeline & Ed Abigail & Chloe #biglittlelies” with heart emojis. No spoilers, no surprises, nothing out of the norm, right?

Well, it was Dern’s comment that really caught our attention.

“Thank you, Reese, for giving us such deep hope in pure love with this story and this ending,” she wrote in the comment above.

Did you catch that last word? “Ending.”

We were hoping that, similar to season one, HBO would surprise us with yet another go around. But, since there’s been no mention of any forthcoming seasons from the cast and Dern has now made this little comment, it seems those hopes are gone.

Our only wish? More Monterey Five nights out (like bowling!) and maybe a hint at what would have happened if we hadn’t ended on a cliffhanger. Ugh.
