We’d be lying if we didn’t say that an outfit can make or break a scene in a movie.
So, it’s no surprise that Black Panther won the Oscar for Best Costume Design during tonight’s 91st annual Academy Awards, which took place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
The film beat out Ballad of Buster Scruggs, The Favourite, Mary Poppins Returns and Mary Queen of Scots.
The Academy first introduced the Best Costume Design category back in 1948, but it was split into two separate genres: black-and-white and color. Previous winners include Phantom Thread, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Mad Max: Fury Road and The Grand Budapest Hotel.
