Bennifer 2.0 may officially be over, but Ben Affleck is still showering his ex, Jennifer Lopez, with kind compliments.

The actor and filmmaker, 52, had nothing but great things to say about Lopez's performance in her upcoming sports drama film Unstoppable, which he produced. In case you're unfamiliar with the project, it depicts the life of Anthony Robles, a wrestler who went on to win a national championship despite being born with one leg.

While chatting with Entertainment Tonight about the biopic, Affleck said, "Unstoppable is a very different movie than [Small Things Like These], but in a way, it’s similarly rooted in the passion of really talented artists. Billy Goldenberg and Jennifer and Don Cheadle and Jharrel [Jerome], and Bobby Cannavale—all were really passionate about this film."

He continued, "It speaks to a certain kind of thing I guess we're drawn to. We really believe in the power of storytelling when the people involved in it are deeply connected to the story."

Affleck then called out his ex and praised her performance, adding, "Jennifer's spectacular. We believed in the right people, and Unstoppable is another example of that."

Affleck's glowing remarks about her performance came just a few weeks after Lopez broke her silence about their breakup. In October, just two months after she filed for divorce, she told Interview magazine, "You have to be healthy. You have to be complete if you want something that’s more complete. You have to be good on your own. I thought I learned that, but I didn’t. And then, this summer, I had to be like, 'I need to go off and be on my own. I want to prove to myself that I can do that.'"

The actress continued, "It feels lonely, unfamiliar, scary...But when you sit in those feelings and go, 'These things are not going to kill me,' it’s like actually, I am capable of joy and happiness all by myself. Being in a relationship doesn’t define me. I can’t be looking for happiness in other people. I have to have happiness within myself. I used to say I’m a happy person, but was still looking for something for somebody else to fill, and it’s just like, 'No, I’m actually good.'"

After Lopez rekindled her romance with Affleck in 2021, they tied the knot in July 2022. Unfortunately, they've since broken up after two years of marriage. Affleck hasn't commented on his split with the singer, but both have remained in good spirits—it seems like the pair are keeping things amicable.
