ABC Drops New Trailer for Matt James's Season of ‘The Bachelor’ (& the Drama Is Aplenty)

We’re just getting into season 16 of The Bachelorette (thank you, Tayshia Adams). And now, ABC is blessing us with even more Bachelor Nation content.

The network dropped the very first trailer for Matt James’s season of The Bachelor, which will premiere on Monday, January 4. The promo aired during last night’s premiere of Big Sky and gave us a never-before-seen look at what’s to come in season 25 of the popular dating series.

The trailer offers a glimpse at the nerve-wracking limo arrivals, which never go as planned. “The women are literally falling for you,” host Chris Harrison says after one of the contestant trips on a step and falls into James’s arms.

Unlike past leads, James isn’t very experienced in the relationship department. In fact, he’s never dropped the L-bomb. “You’ve never been in love?” Harrison asks. “My job is to change that.”

The clip concludes by teasing some of the impending drama, including one woman who’s already annoying the other contestants. Will they ever learn?

On the bright side, the promo is set to “Whatta Man” by Salt-N-Pepa, which is bringing back major ’90s nostalgia.

We first learned about James back in July when ABC named him as the first Black Bachelor. In honor of the announcement, the 28-year-old made a virtual appearance on an episode of Good Morning America, where he wore no pants.

James was originally cast as a contestant on Clare Crawley’s season of The Bachelorette. Since production was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic, producers allowed him to skip a step and become the Bachelor without ever appearing on the franchise.

Mark your calendars, ladies and gents.
