The Most Common TV-Inspired Baby Names Include ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘Breaking Bad’ Characters

It’s no secret that baby names are influenced by grandparents, distant relatives and an endless supply of baby name books. However, they are also often influenced by pop culture, including parents’ favorite movies and shows, actors, artists and more.

So, researchers at Top Casino Bonus did a deep dive into the most popular uncommon baby names influenced by current television characters.

How did they do it? According to a press release, the company looked at the 50 most popular TV programmes according to IMDb and compared them with unique names with less than 20,000 instances (to ensure that they avoided common names such as Rachel and Ross).

And the results are...interesting. While we weren’t surprised to see shows like Game of Thrones and Greys Anatomy ranking more than once for girls, there were also a few surprises (*cough cough* The 100). As for boys names, The Office seemed to inspire many parents. Unfortunately, neither Michael or Scott made the list.

Without further ado, here are the top ten baby names inspired by TV characters for both boys and girls.
