Ashley Graham Pumped in an Uber & Lived to Tell the Tale

As many new parents can tell you, when you need to pump, you usually need to do it immediately. Milk supply doesn’t care if you’re in a high-stakes meeting, in the middle of an episode of The Bachelor, or, if you’re like Ashley Graham, in an Uber.

The 32-year-old model and new mom revealed on her Instagram Stories that yes, pumping in the back of an Uber is just as awkward as you might imagine.

She posted a video of herself using a hand pump with her girls out and captioned it, “First pump in an Uber. Ever so slightly awkward.” Her face, though, really said it all. While pumping, the Pretty Big Deal host looked around with a kind of “just keep swimming” smile that communicated exactly how she felt.

ICYMI: Graham gave birth to her first child with husband Justin Ervin, a little boy named Isaac Menelik Giovanni, on January 18. Since then, she’s been opening up about her post-partum journey on the reg and doing her best to normalize breastfeeding in public. (Yaass, Ashley.) During an episode of her hit podcast, she and her husband of nine years shed light on their experience as new parents. Graham noted that after giving birth to her son naturally (non-medicated), she feels like “there’s nothing I can’t do” now.

Clearly that includes facing the trickiness of pumping in public (or in this case, in close proximity to a total stranger who also happens to be operating a vehicle).
