But if there’s one Golden Globes accessory that is forever engrained in my mind, it’s Jeremy Strong’s Princess Diaries-inspired bucket hat.

Over the weekend, Hollywood’s biggest stars gathered at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles for the 82nd annual Golden Globe Awards. This included the 46-year-old Succession star, who stepped out in a monochrome outfit that was so bizarre it kinda slayed.

Strong’s mint green outfit was designed by Loro Piana, and it included a tailored suit and a bucket hat with a brim so low, it nearly covered the actor’s eyes.
Fans on social media understood the assignment and immediately compared the look to Anne Hathaway’s character in The Princess Diaries, Mia Thermopolis. (You know, the scene where she wears a bucket hat to school to hide her freshly blown-out hair.)
It didn’t take long for Hathaway to catch wind of the now-viral meme, which she promptly re-shared on her Instagram account.
Hathaway captioned the post, “Sweetheart, I’m not mad you borrowed it but I didn’t totally realize you were going to change the col… anyway, not important, congrats on your well deserved nom for The Apprentice!!!”
Strong is widely known for portraying Kendall Roy in HBO’s Succession. However, he most recently starred as Roy Cohn in The Apprentice, which earned him a Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture.
Perhaps this calls for a Jeremy Strong cameo in The Princess Diaries 3.
