Anne Hathaway’s Baby Bump Made Its Grand Debut in a Custom Brandon Maxwell Gown

Anne Hathaway hit the red carpet last night with an exciting plus-one. No, it wasn’t her husband, Adam Shulman (although he was there, too). It was her brand-new baby bump.

The 36-year-old pregnant Oscar winner attended the Broadway opening of Sea Wall/A Life in New York and flaunted her growing bump in a custom fuchsia midi dress with—wait for it—cutouts. (Anne Hathaway is clearly a cool mom.)

The stunning maternity look came courtesy of designer Brandon Maxwell and was custom created for Hathaway and her baby. Notice that the cutouts perfectly highlight her bump and bring an unexpected element to traditional maternity wear.

As you can see, she paired the ensemble with metallic strappy sandals and a crimson box clutch. She wore her hair in loose tousled waves and piece-y bangs.

She even turned on the red carpet to give fans a good glimpse at her bump.

But there was one element of her ensemble that wasn’t immediately discernible on the carpet. So, Hathaway shared a little behind-the-scenes peek on Instagram.

Knowing that Hathaway required a little extra space in the wait for the newest member of her family, the designer had another label sewn in that read, “Anne + 1.”

Hathaway thanked Maxwell in her caption, writing, “@BrandonMaxwell, as if it wasn’t enough you custom-made me and the bump a knockout dress, you put this tag in it. Thank you, new friend.”

The Hustle star announced her pregnancy late last month on Instagram with a picture of her bump. She also spoke candidly about her fertility and her journey toward pregnancy in a telling interview with Entertainment Tonight. She and Schulman share a 3-year-old son named Jonathan.

What a journey it’s been so far.
