This Original ‘Roseanne’ Character May Return for Season 2 (Sorry, Jerry Garcia)

Almost all of the O.G. cast members returned to the small screen for ABC’s Roseanne revival, and while we already know about Jerry Garcia’s future (or lack thereof) on the show, we can’t help but wonder what happened to Jackie Harris’s (Laurie Metcalf) son, Andy.

Here’s what you need to know: In season six, Jackie gets knocked up by Fred Oakland (Michael O’Keefe), Dan’s (John Goodman) coworker, during a one-night stand. The soon-to-be parents tie the knot two months before welcoming their son, Andy Harris. The role was played by two sets of twins—Garrett and Kent Hazen in seasons seven and eight, followed by Trevor and Tyler Battaglia in season nine—all of whom haven’t had any acting jobs since appearing on Roseanne.

In January, Roseanne Barr attended the Television Critics Association’s 2018 winter press tour and revealed that grown-up Andy isn’t in the reboot because there are far too many story lines to explore. She said, “We haven’t dealt with Andy, Laurie’s son, yet. But we had so many stories to tell over the arc of these nine episodes that we were hoping for another season to bring more clarity to those characters.”

The good news is ABC recently renewed Roseanne for another season, so we can only hope the new episodes will address the elephant in the room. Roseanne airs on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
