Amy Schumer’s Reaction to Her Emmy Nomination Was a Total Joke Because, Duh

Since Amy Schumer first announced she was pregnant, she’s been cracking jokes left and right. Well, as she pointed out yesterday on Instagram, her 2-month-old son, Gene, has been there through it all. So, it only makes sense that he, too, should enjoy the spoils of her comedic efforts.

It all started when Emmy nominations were announced yesterday and Schumer learned that her Netflix comedy special, Growing, had received a nod. In order to respond to the news, she looked to Gene for a little help and posted a funny slideshow.

“We are very proud of being EMMY nominated for our @netflixisajoke special #GROWING as we were both on stage during filming!” the comedian wrote.

In the first picture, Gene can be seen enjoying a little nosh on a bottle while simultaneously cheering his mom (and himself, we suppose) on.

Schumer’s caption continued with a momentary serious note and another joke, this time about her husband. “Very proud and excited. Thank you everyone who voted and to my husband who wants me to never stop talking,” she wrote.

The second photo in the series shows her lounging with her husband, Chris Fischer, in their spacious yard. It’s cute, but he also appears to have his hand over her mouth, so…

All we can say is this is classic Schumer. Oh, and of course congratulations to the comic and her very cute sidekick.

The question remains: Will he toddle down the red carpet with his mom on Emmys night?
