We’ll admit it, spending $30 on a candle isn’t something we care to do often. But when we heard that Yankee Candle released a scent just for 2020, we were intrigued.
The candle mecca just announced its second annual Scent of the Year—"Awaken.” Described by the brand as a crystalline mineral fragrance with a crisp and simple scent, the new candle comes in a large jar candle size, which has a burn time of 110 to 150 hours.
According to the website, the new scent has top notes of sheer peony and crystal freesia, mid notes of clary sage essential oil, orcanox and driftwood, as well as base notes of white amber, patchouli and mineral musk (whatever that means).
“Awaken was developed to inspire you to open your eyes to the simple beauty of the every day, giving you a clear, bright vision for the new year," said Jennifer Genson, Yankee Candle's Fragrance Development Lead. Seems a liiiiittle over the top for a candle, but you get the idea.
