The Inspiration Behind Patricia Heaton’s New Home Collection Is *So* Relatable

ICYMI, the actress Patricia Heaton (of Everybody Loves Raymond and The Middle fame) just launched the loveliest line of tableware for Walmart. Bright and cheerful, the new Southampton Collection is all about bringing a touch of style to fuss-free summer entertaining.

When we checked in with Heaton to discuss the exciting debut, she candidly shared that her approach to the collection was inspired by—what else?—motherhood.

“Raising four boys in SoCal meant outdoor birthday parties...and that meant paper or plastic dishes to keep broken glass to a minimum,” said Heaton. “It was easy to find outdoor kid-themed products, but to be able to entertain adults outdoors with a touch of sophistication was a challenge. So I created this collection with that in mind.” The end result? An elevated and decidedly fun collection of shatter-proof entertaining pieces. (Think: textural water goblets; patterned chips and dip sets.) The pieces have all the immediate appeal of blown glass or ceramics. But being melamine, they're kid-, pet- and general clumsiness-proof—perfect for a meal on the patio.

“I’ve always loved entertaining, and I’m a bit of a collector when it comes to dinnerware,” shared Heaton. “I’m so excited to be able to bring a bright, fresh look-for-less to my fans and friends!”
