Since spending the majority of my time at home, my family and I have decided to change up our apartment. If I’m not looking at ‘What I Bought from Amazon’ Youtube videos, I'm browsing Pinterest for home inspo. But it was one Netflix show in particular that actually got me out of the house to buy everything I needed to renovate my entire kitchen.
When I heard about Get Organized with The Home Edit, I started counting down the days until it aired on Netflix. (I am a big Marie Kondo fan, so a show about organizing was right up my alley.) I saw a lot of buzz around the series, especially when big stars like Reese Witherspoon, Eva Longoria and Retta were going to make an appearance, so I had to check it out for myself, and I was not disappointed.
If you’re not familiar with the show, the Netflix original is about professional organizers and founders of The Home Edit, Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin. In each episode, they reorganize a celeb and a family’s space. Whether it’s a kitchen or a closet, they completely transform the place, often including a few items from their line at The Container Store. If you’re an organizer-in-training like me (seriously, my mother and I are considering heading into the business), this show will have your eyes glued to the TV and wondering, how in the heck did they do that in one day?!
After a few episodes, I started taking mental notes on how to redo my own kitchen and prepared for a day at The Container Store. I’ll admit, I’ve only been to the Container Store once, and it felt like I was going to Disney World for the first time. And I’m not alone: People are flocking to the store, completely emptying the shelves of their items. Even at my local shop, there was a long line of people waiting to get in when I left.
