My Experience with the Aurora Luxe Cooling Mattress

This was my first bed-in-a-box, so I don’t have any other experience to compare it to, but the set-up process is one of the only downsides I can think of with this mattress. The box is extremely heavy, and as someone who lives alone—and two flights of stairs up in a walk-up building—getting this bad boy into my apartment was *difficult*. It took quite a bit of maneuvering to get it up my building’s narrow staircase, and even though I consider myself pretty physically fit, the weight and awkwardness of the box made the process a bit more challenging than I’d expected. Once I removed the rolled-up mattress from the box and placed it on my bed frame, though, the actual set-up was pretty simple. The mattress fluffed up in a flash, and after letting it be for a few hours, I slept on it for the first time and was extremely pleased.

The medium firmness is perfect for me as someone who tosses and turns and switches to different sleep positions throughout the night, and I’ve definitely noticed that I don’t wake up covered in sweat as much as I did with previous models. My only other qualm is that the mattress is so thick that my normal queen-size fitted sheet isn’t deep enough to fully wrap around the mattress, so I’ve had to upgrade to deep pocket sheets. (Kind of a pain, sure, but the comfort that that extra thickness provides is well worth having to buy a new set.)
