Jennifer Garner is at it again (and by “it” we mean cooking)—but this time, she’s bringing Italy to the comfort of her own home.
Jennifer Garner’s Pizza Cracker Recipe Has Us… Intrigued
You'll thank us later
Last week, the 51-year-old actress shared a new episode of Pretend Cooking Show on her personal Instagram account. The video featured herself making one of her family’s favorite recipes, Pizza Cracker, which is basically a sauce-less pizza with fresh herbs and olive oil.
In the video, Garner reveals that Pizza Cracker is a staple recipe in her household. Although you can use a cookie sheet to cook your dough, the actress swears by a pizza stone. “Pizza dough just needs a super-hot place to land,” she says in the clip. “You can even use a cookie sheet, if you want, inverted. But nothing works as well as a pizza stone. This will turn your oven into, you know, a pizzeria!”
Garner goes on to explain why you should follow the directions exactly, especially when you’re adding the warm (not hot) water. “You do not want your water hot to the touch,” she adds. “You’ll be so sad because you’ll burn your yeast.”
After adding a special ingredient (beer), Garner combines everything in her KitchenAid mixer before letting it rest. Once the dough is shaped, she puts it in the oven until puffy—only then does she add toppings.
We’re not totally sold on the idea of a sauce-less flatbread, but there’s only one way to find out if it’s any good.
