Christmas comes but once every two years—if your idea of Christmas is a new cookbook from national treasure Ina Garten. We knew our kitchen muse and personal guiding light (kidding, kind of) was hard at work on her 13th title, and as of October 25, it’s finally here.

Make room on your shelves for Go-To Dinnerswhich the Barefoot Contessa shared in an Instagram clip. “My favorite recipes might be breakfast for dinner!! I hope you love it,” she captioned the post. (FWIW, we’re huge fans of brinner too.)

As for the concept of book no. 13, she originally explained, “Cooking during the pandemic got pretty crazy, even for me, so I devised all kinds of ways to get dinner on the table with the least amount of stress.” Lucky for all of us, that resulted in a collection of easy, make ahead, prep ahead, freeze ahead and simply assembled recipes—or, as we like to call them, instant classics.

Way back in April 2021, she offered a sneak peak inside the book, sharing an enticing photo of asparagus. Finally, we can make it at home, along with satisfying and uncomplicated dinners like Overnight Mac & Cheese, Tuscan White Bean Soup, Chicken in a Pot with Orzo and Hasselback Kielbasa (to name a few).

Garten, 74, published her last cookbook, Modern Comfort Food, in October 2020, and word on the street is that she also has a memoir in the works (potentially arriving as soon at 2023). Even though Ms. Garten recently revealed to 60 Minutes that she’s “really a nervous cook,” we’re all but certain the recipes in Go-To Dinners will prove otherwise.
