Apéritifs—a type of lower-ABV spirit that’s made from fruits, herbs, roots and botanicals—have dominated the drink scene in summer 2021 (not to mention many non-alcoholic iterations). And Haus’s line of all-natural, lower-sugar libations have earned a permanent spot in our bar cart. It looks like we’ll have to make more room for yet another bottle, since the brand just launched a new limited-edition flavor: strawberry basil.

Made with strawberries, three varieties of basil and jasmine, this sipper is equal parts complex and summery. It boasts juicy, fresh flavor that complements everything from pasta salad to chicken skewers to balsamic vinegar. Its fruity notes bring to mind images of berry ice pops and ice cream sundaes, while its herbaceous qualities make the drink an apt pairing for grilled meats, salads and cheese boards.

And the perks don’t stop there: Just like Haus’s other apéritifs, the strawberry basil number is free of artificial ingredients. It’s boozy enough to loosen you up but has a lighter ABV (and way less sugar) than hard liquor, meaning you’ll get to skip the hangover the next morning. Serve the drink solo on the rocks, make it a spritz by topping it with a splash of club soda or tonic or shake it with fresh strawberries, muddled herbs and vodka for a next-level cocktail.

Since we know you’re planning a fancy-yet-fun dinner party before summer ends (admit it, you’ve been dying to host your friends), why not add this limited-time bev to the menu before it disappears? Your guests will thank you for it.
