1. Pistachio
A little paler and with cooler undertones than autumn’s kohlrabi trend, pistachio will be especially popular for accessories and special occasion dressing (the perfect excuse for a new wedding guest dress). It plays well with just about every neutral hue under the sun—dove gray, beige, washed black, winter white, etc.—but also looks beautiful when paired with deep purples, dark reds and any and all shades of blue.

2. All Shades of Red
Cherry red is set to be the most popular shade of red this winter, but don’t let that prevent you from sporting garnet, candy or brick pieces, too. And while you can ease your way into the trend with a bold red lip or a crossbody bag, the best way to wear the hue this winter is in large swaths that are the focus of your ‘fit. When you’re ready to go all in, try a red midi dress, knee-high boots or oversize knit worn with more muted neutrals.

3. Lavender
If you were all in on pink in 2023, you’ll likely be excited to try 2024’s paler alternative, lavender. This delicate purple shade feels a bit more grown-up than other pastels, like ballerina pink or buttercup yellow, especially when paired with modern neutrals like navy, brown or dove gray. On the flip side, it also mixes well with bright hues like cherry red, Bottega green and cerulean blue.

4. Icy Blue
This pale blue shade evokes images of frozen ponds and delicate snowflakes, especially when paired with glittering silver. In fact, we’d say our favorite items of clothing done in this particular hue are made with fabric that has a slight sheen to it, like silk or leather, to further give the feeling of glimmering ice.

5. Navy Lite
For 2023, the neutral of choice was brown, but navy blue is sure to usurp the earthy tone in the coming months. We’re not talking about navy so deep it could almost be seen as black, but instead a brighter shade that is obviously blue, more akin to indigo or royal blue. Our favorite navy lite pieces are solid in color and avoid too much detailing, to really let the color shine. Pair them with contrasting hues, like yellow or red.

6. Cool Neutrals
For the gal who prefers a more neutral-toned wardrobe, winter 2024 will see a rise in colors with cool undertones. We’re talking slate gray, khaki, brilliant white and washed blacks. If you want to mix cool and warm undertones in one outfit, there are two keys to remember. The first is to opt for different colors—i.e. white with black, gray with white—rather than going for a monochrome approach. The second is to ensure you choose one dark and one light shade, as opposed to two dark or two light. This way, the difference appears more subtle and makes both easier to pair with any other hits of color you want to add to your look.

7. SKIP: Barbie Pink
The Barbie-mania craze saw a wash of vibrant shades of pink everywhere in 2023. And while 2024 will certainly see plenty of bold hues take the spotlight, Barbie pink is, unfortunately, on its way out. That said, you can still get use out of your beloved pink pieces—just be sure to style them as smaller pops rather than going for broke with a head-to-toe monochrome outfit.
