White jeans for summer? OK, maybe it's not the most groundbreaking. But if you want to give the seasonal staple an up-to-date upgrade, follow the example of Katie Holmes and Jennifer Lopez and opt for a wide-leg version of the style to add to your summer capsule wardrobe.

Holmes was recently spotted in a wide-leg pair in New York City, switching up her go-to slouchy slacks for the more structured bottoms—and looking effortlessly cool in the process.
