Thanks to Anthropologie, I'm ready to build out my fall wardrobe earlier than ever. From Western styles to animal prints and more, the retailer's dress section is already overflowing with gorgeous picks that'll perfectly transition into next season as the leaves—and soon, hopefully, the temperatures—start to change. If you're ready to pack up the jean shorts, tank dresses and tropical prints, I found a few Anthropologie frocks to fill those empty spots in your closet.

In first place for the best summer-to-fall transition dresses is this shirtdress version of the crowd-favorite Somerset dress. What's not to love? It's got a relaxed bodice, oversized short sleeves, a smocked waist and, best of all, pockets! Made of 100 percent cotton, it should keep you cool on warmer fall days and warm on the chillier ones. This rust red shade is to die for, but it's also available in multiple other patterns and colors. You can style this dress up or down, but I'm partial to the way it's photographed with a large belt and some high boots.

The style of this ribbed sweater dress has a more preppy, professional look instead of a loungy, off-duty one, which is great for anyone who is looking to add some cozy pieces to their office wardrobe. It's got a sleek pointed collar leading into a V-neckline and a short slit that allows for some additional movement and ventilation, a boon on those inevitably warm autumn afternoons. Personally, I think the monochrome tie around the waist makes this dress even better, as it helps to accentuate your figure—plus, the rich brown hue totally screams "fall."

Western styles are in again this fall, and this viscose dress is a fun-yet-elevated pick for the start of the season. Who doesn't love an easy-to-layer slip, am I right? The artsy brushstroke horse design nods to the trend while still being pretty minimalist—so, don't worry, you won't look like you're heading out to a bachelorette bash in Nashville when you wear it. It comes with optional straps and has an elastic back waist for a bit of stretch. Not in love with the print? There are also multiple patterns available in the same silhouette.

If you like puff sleeves, a stretchy waist and a cute pattern, you're going to love this number. Not only does it have all of the aforementioned design qualities, but also a cute V-neck and flowy skirt that's so ready for an outdoor picnic. I adore this pattern and think it would pair well with a set of brown boots for transitional footwear. The dress and the liner are both 100 percent cotton, so it should feel nice and breezy for those warmer days between seasons.

You can't go wrong with leather—or faux leather, in this case—as the weather starts cooling down, and in this seasonal brown shade, this mini is at the top of my list. It has a shirtdress design complete with a button-up front and collar, and it even comes with a cute matching belt to cinch your waist. The shape of the chest pockets also ties it in the Western wear trend, while the sleeves have a slight puff to them, adding a bit of a feminine touch to the somewhat edgy style.

I am absolutely loving the denim obsession for fall, and this dress is a unique take on the trend. It has an A-line silhouette and a front slit, plus it zips up from the slit to the neckline so it can sit as low as you'd like it to. It's made of 100 percent cotton, so it will have a sturdy denim fit with no stretch. You can pair it with sneakers, cowboy boots or boots based on the look you're going for.

A pop of red, anyone? Paired with the flared, A-line shape and oh-so-demure boat neck, it makes for one gorgeous option for a night out. The triangular opening on the back shows a sexy wink of skin, and there's a hidden zipper beneath it for easy on-and-off. The hips have pleats that add a little bit more interest to the traditional silhouette.

Professional and stylish are two words to sum up this fresh take on the basic shirtdress. It has a classic button-down style but the bottom button of the bodice wraps over and attaches to the side of your hip to give it that wrapped look. I'm so into the asymmetrical hemline, and love that the pinstripes give it even more of an business-casual aesthetic. I would suggest a pair of loafers with this frock, but you can wear just about any shoes with it—despite its unique design, I think it's a totally versatile number to take you from summer to fall.
