The 96th Annual Academy Awards is upon us, which means we're about to get some pretty great fashion moments. Every year we gear up to marvel at the most memorable dresses, voluminous skirts, grandiose trains and fashion faux pas, but very rarely do we marvel over the men’s sometimes snoozy black suits and tuxedos. That is, until Taylor Zakhar Perez arrived.
Taylor Zakhar Perez Just Set the Bar for the Men at the Oscars Red Carpet
Putting the blue in ‘Red, White and Royal Blue’
The Red, White and Royal Blue star graced the Oscar’s red carpet in a powder blue Prada suit juxtaposed with stark black accents and footwear, styled by Jason Bolden. The icy look felt cool and refreshing amongst an overwhelming slew of men in black—and, no, we’re unfortunately not talking about the iconic 1997 film starring Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith.
Not only does the 32-year-old actor’s look usher in the anticipation for spring fashion, but we’d go as far as to say that it sets the bar quite high for all men. The message: Go big or go home. We’re not asking for a peek-a-boo moment (*cough* Timothée Chalamet circa 2022)—though we’d love to see it, nonetheless—we’re simply asking for something memorable. After all, it is the red carpet.
The night’s just getting started, and while we’re itching to see who tonight’s Oscar winners are, we’re equally excited to see which men will follow Perez’s stylish lead.
