While I’m not a Swiftie who dissects every outfit from her record-breaking Eras Tour or dines at the same NYC restaurants the singer frequents, I’m certainly not looking to start a Taylor Swift takedown either. Yes, I’ll happily hit repeat on “Snow on the Beach” when I’m in my feels, and I genuinely admire how influential the iconic popstar has been—not only with her music and hairstyles but also with her wardrobe. From signing her first record deal at 14 to generating billions for the economy with her most epic tour to date, Taylor Swift has rocked countless memorable looks throughout the years. While her style has leaned sexier lately, especially since dating footballer Travis Kelce, I’m taking a moment to look back—ten years to be exact—for a fun walk down memory lane. Here are five outfits Miss Swift wore in 2015 that I’d wear today (with a few minor tweaks), plus one that’s evolved with the times since the day she wore it.

1. Burgundy + Navy

Taylor Swift has always been a trendsetter, so should I really be surprised that she pulled off one of the most unexpected color combinations of 2025—burgundy and navy—ten years ago? Not really, yet here I am, thinking this picture could’ve been taken this past month. The two colors go together like bread and butter, with the navy serving as the hottest new neutral of the season and burgundy as its trendy counterpart. I love how she keeps the look simple with a plain, cropped sweater and checkered skirt, elevating it with a pair of tights. While I’m not the biggest fan of the shoes here, swapping them for classic loafers or Swift’s signature over-the-knee boots would really make this look feel fresh and current.

2. The Classic Swift Uniform, with a Side of Bright Pumps

When I think of Taylor Swift circa 1989, I think of micro shorts and legs for days, just like you see in the outfit above. What makes this look transcend years of trends is how it’s grounded in classic pieces and tailoring, from a trusty black tank top and pointy stiletto to the high neck of the top and the elegant cut of the patterned shorts. Another key piece to note: The 35-year-old singer maintained a neutral palette, then used her footwear to introduce color—something I’d absolutely replicate today (minus the white-trimmed sunglasses, sorry).

3. Camel Coats and Textured Tights

Another outfit I’d wear today: this double-breasted camel coat with patterned tights moment. I actually have a pair of Sheertex tights with a diamond design almost identical to the pair Swift is wearing above. I appreciate how she opted for a coat that matches the length of her little black dress—it adds a bold, sexy vibe, especially with the textured tights that draw attention to her long legs. I’m not the biggest fan of Oxford heels, so I think a simple, classic black pump like this pair from Ann Taylor would complete the look better, keeping it current while elongating the legs.

4. Her Blair Waldorf Moment

If I had to guess, I’d say Swift was rewatching Gossip Girl an hour before this photo was taken, because there are major Blair Waldorf vibes going on here. From the ladylike bouclé coat that channels Coco Chanel to the opaque tights and colorful gloves, everything about her ensemble could pass as a Constance-approved It-girl uniform. (Yes, even those Oxford heels that Swift was apparently obsessed with back in 2015.)

5. Sailor Taylor

If you needed proof that a Mariner blouse will always stand the test of time, this is it. The seamless design of the top makes it a capsule wardrobe staple, and the black and white combo is one that’ll never go out of style—sorry, had to. Swift couples her cropped blouse with some high-waist black shorts that are giving major hot pants vibes, similar to the micro shorts that Hailey Bieber wore and Bravolebrity Paige Desorbo often sports. For a night out or special occasion, opt for sky-high heels like the pair Swift wears, or go with classic loafers and chunky socks for an everyday edit.

One Look I’d Leave in the Past: Yesteryear’s Boho

Thanks to Isabel Marant and Chloé, boho dressing is *so* back…but just not how we used to wear it in 2015. Taylor’s look is really on the nose with her lacey dress and headband embellished with all the glittering crystals, and I’m making the executive decision to leave it in the past. Yes, it’s still darling and cute, but that’s not how we’re executing the bohemian style today. Instead, the boho vibe is being reimagined with a more edgy and sexy perspective: one that’s plays with sheer fabrics, incorporates animal prints, introduces lots of texture and sharpens everything up with soft leathers and suedes.
