Aside from the French tuck, if there’s one thing Tan France believes in when it comes to style, it’s accessibility. “They make fun of me on set—they call me ‘accessible queen,’” the Queer Eye star tells me at the recent launch party for his new collaboration with Eyebuydirect, an eyewear brand he’s been rocking since the early seasons of the Netflix show. “But I was and am a working-class boy—I don’t spend thousands of dollars on anything. So I want to offer [my audience] things that they can actually purchase, things that are accessible to them.”

France’s philosophy is, of course, just one of the reasons why the designer and style guru has acquired such a massive fashion fandom around the world, and is why his latest partnership was a total no-brainer. Marking his second collab with Eyebuydirect, the retailer known for its stylish, customizable and impressively affordable eyewear, France has curated a stunning collection of sunnies and specs that are sure to serve as the perfect finishing touch on any fall ensemble.

The best part? They “look as good as any designer brand,” says France, but come at a price point that all of his fellow “accessible queens” can get behind. That would include me, BTW—I’m a longtime fan of Eyebuydirect, and having tried some of the frames from France’s collection in person, I can attest that the quality far exceeds the price tag. That is, of course, the main goal at the heart of the brand. As Sunny Jiang, Chief Executive Officer of Eyebuydirect, tells me, “we never sacrifice quality. Regardless of budget, regardless of the price, quality is our top priority—and we’re proud of that.” Jiang also adds that the design team is constantly keeping up with new styles and trends to provide customers with the most fashion-forward glasses and frames each season.

The Tan France Collection, in particular, is a shining example of the retailer’s ability to stay ahead of the curve, as it features a selection of retro-inspired, unisex styles that perfectly play into the glasses trends that France is predicting for the season. “In terms of eyewear, I’m seeing ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s, and you’ll see a lot of the styles here reference [those decades]. [Especially] the ‘70s with big, bold frames—that’s always my style touchpoint.” Indeed, these very groovy Rogue sunnies are perhaps my favorite from the line, not least of all because they come in at just $65.
