Stores like Zara

If you’re anything like me, Zara’s generally inexpensive yet constantly on-trend selection has a serious hold on you. No matter how much I try to broaden my style horizons and how far I go with my “elevated” sartorial tastes, I always end up back in the grips of Zara. Case in point: Zara’s latest collection has me in a chokehold. Whether you’re a hard-core minimalist who’s building a capsule wardrobe or you have a “more is more” ethos, you can find something that will tickle your fancy and for that, I have no choice but to praise the powers that be at this fashion giant. In the name of growth and expansion though, it’s worth it to look into these other super chic brands like Zara, including H&M, Revolve, Reformation and Everlane, that are bringing the same level of style, selection and price point to the table. I’ve rounded up the must-have items from 11 stores like Zara that give off similar vibes to the Spanish retailer. Behold, the fashion destinations that’ll help you replace Zara as your default.

1. Everlane

Everlane

Everlane has a fan base that is just as passionate as Zara’s. Armed with the essentials that make or break any wardrobe foundation, Everlane delivers on practical, everyday pieces that you simply can’t pass up. Whether you’re on the market for a classic pair of jeans or a new, crisp white tee, you can’t miss with Everlane. You’ll even spy some trendier gems (see: the barrel jeans and tie-dye dress below) that are subtle enough to have a life in your closet that lasts more than one trend cycle. Prices run from about $50 to $110 and sizes from 00 to 16 or XS to XXL. There’s also a men’s line in case you want to snag something for the guy in your life.

2. NA-KD

NA-KD

Without a doubt, NA-KD fashion is the place to shop if you want the latest and greatest Scandinavian styles with a commitment to sustainability and at reasonable prices ranging from $4 to $180. The clothing is modern and trendy, yet manages to maintain the clean, sophisticated signature look the Swedish company is known for. The sizing is pretty inclusive, too, with most styles available in XXS to XXL and some in extended sizes (XXXL to 7XL). I’ve been a fan of the brand’s noteworthy collaborations with some of the biggest fashion influencers, like Paola Cossentino, Josefine Vogt and Danielle Copperman. Just don’t be surprised to see stock fly off the shelves because those collabs sell out in a flash.

3. COS

COS

COS is really the epitome of cool, sustainability and quality. One step in one of their ultra-chic stores and you’ll understand why they’re on this list. From flowing dresses to smart trousers that’ll get you compliments for years to come, COS comes out on top. Their prices range from about $25 to $250, with sizes ranging from 2 to 14. There are also lines for men and children so the whole family can step out in style.

4. Mango

Mango

Mango is one of the retailers that most closely resembles Zara’s selection, thanks to a healthy mix of basic and trendy styles. I have a genuine love for their effortlessly cool dress selection and always trendy shoes. When it comes to sizes, they have a pretty impressive range, with general sizes from 2 to 10 and an entire section dedicated to sizes 12 to 22. As far as prices go, you can expect to spend anywhere from $10 to $200. The men and children’s lines are also noteworthy.

5. H&M

H&M

H&M is a fast fashion giant that has earned its stripes as a go-to destination for wardrobe staples like office-ready cardigans and sustainable and conscious pieces. Aside from their notable collaborations with some of fashion’s biggest names, they’re a leader in fun, trendy pieces that won’t break the bank. If you’re looking for anything bright and eye-catching, they’ve got you covered. If you’re in the market for no-fuss jumpsuits that are cute and comfy, they’ve got those too. Scoring items as low as $5 isn’t unheard of and prices usually cap at around $170. H&M’s standard sizes range from XXS to XL, with plus sizes going from L to 4XL.

6. & Other Stories

& Other Stories

In addition to being one of the coolest options out there (and a sister label to H&M), I always get a nostalgic, ‘90s vibe from the & Other Stories selection—that is, classic, minimal pieces that are super flattering. That’s not to say that this Swedish brand doesn’t have fun, modern options as well; I’m a huge fan of their stand-out co-ord sets and killer shoe section. Prices range from about $25 to $499 and sizes go from 0 to 12.

7. Oak & Fort

Oak & Fort

Oak & Fort’s claim to fame is a casual yet sophisticated approach to your everyday must-haves—we’ll call it timeless chic. Their ultra-relaxed cuts and mostly neutral tones are what minimalist capsule wardrobe dreams are made of, and I especially love their take on easy, breezy pants and their pared-down accessories. If this sounds like your cup of tea, you can expect to spend anywhere from $7 to $268 with sizes that range from 0 to 14.

Frank & Oak

Frank & Oak is another brand that speaks to the basic, minimalist pieces that Zara is known for. While not as tailored as the Z-brand, Frank & Oak offers serious comfort and sizes from XXS to XL with prices that start as low as $15 and go up to $149. In need of a great pair of jean shorts that aren’t fussy? They’ve got it covered. On the market for a good cotton denim jacket that’ll take you through the summer and beyond? They’ve got that too.

9. Revolve

Revolve

If you’re looking to spice up your life and are super into Zara’s obsession with bold patterns, Revolve might be more your speed. Stocked with a huge selection of designers and independent brands, Revolve is for the shopper who is all about variety. Think: sultry, night-on-the-town pieces that will certainly earn you some double takes. I’m seriously in love with their matching sets section, and their dress selection is quite impressive too. In fact, I found *the* best summer dress that I wear repeatedly on Revolve. Sizes range from XS to XXL, and prices range from under $10 to over $1,000. Oh! Before I close on this one, it’s worth mentioning that they have an endorphin-inducing beauty section, too.

10. ASOS

ASOS

ASOS is another destination where you can find pretty much anything you like. Whether you’re into super sporty looks or are on the hunt for a chic vacation outfit, ASOS can handle the job. Plus, they acquired Topshop a few years ago, which means there’s a whole entire section where you can browse the once famed retailer (which also brings to mind Zara). ASOS’s size range is seriously impressive (US 2 to 28) and there’s something for every budget, with prices ranging from $5 to $705. Now that’s what I call variety.

11. Reformation

Reformation

Reformation is coming in last but they are most definitely not least. In fact, this sustainable brand is high on my list of favorite places to shop. I love their flirty yet smart approach to style—basically, it’s where your quintessential ‘90s rom-com girl-next-door would shop. I can’t get enough of their romantic yet modern tops and jeans that flatter any size or shape. Speaking of size, they have a pretty impressive range, from a standard range XXS to XXL to petite and extended sizes that go from XSP to XLP and 1X to 3X, respectively. A Reformation piece will run you anywhere from $29 to $278 or more, and don’t forget to check out the darling swimsuits and luxury handbags.
