Why is it that shopping for your birthday fit is 50 times harder than shopping for literally anything else? Thankfully, we can look to celebrities for inspo, and this year, I'm taking a page out of Selena Gomez's look book. The Only Murders in the Building actress just celebrated her 32nd birthday at the beach in style, and after a little digging online, I found the *exact* piece she was wearing in her Instagram photo. So let's just say I'll be scooping up the Free People Forever Young romper ($78) to wear for my own birthday next month, and it's not just because it's available for less than $80.

The flouncy, playful romper is a total vibe, whether or not you plan on rocking it to the beach à la Gomez. What's to thank? You mean other than the ruffled neckline and bow detail that makes it perfectly flirty? Well, the mellow yellow color definitely doesn't go unnoticed. However, the romper is also available in a pretty milky blue if that speaks to you.

Before you add the piece to your cart, though, let's talk about the fabric. The romper is made of a blend of polyester and nylon (so, yes, it's lightweight and machine-washable) with a cool, crinkled texture. That said, I don't see why you can't take it from the beach to lunch and an ice cream date, especially since it has a *low open back* to show off some skin.
