From the revenge dress to her opulent wedding gown, the late Princess Diana knew how to turn heads. She never shied away from a classy statement look, and the same could be said about her beach attire.

Jantzen

In 1991, the royal was spotted wearing a Jantzen bathing suit, which was started in Portland, Oregon by founders Carl Jantzen and Roy and John Zehntbauer. They began by creating wool suit uniforms for rowing teams, but the demand for their swimsuits caused the company to make a groundbreaking pivot that would eventually put them in the hands of royalty. “In the following years, [after 1991] she was often photographed on vacation wearing the brands more popular one-piece and two-piece styles,” says Jantzen marketing director Carrie Helferich.

The brand became beloved by the royal as she found they agreed with her long torso. She was even captured wearing her black suit on the cover of Majesty in the ‘90s (Volume 14, No. 2). Today, their current modern silhouettes remain reminiscent of the glamorous classic styles worn throughout the decades.

“The suit she was most often photographed wearing was the Black Sheer Delight high-neck one-piece. This style featured a high neckline and a portrait back style. This silhouette is still one of Jantzen’s best-selling styles,” says Helferich. Their current version of Princess Diana’s archived swimsuit is the Jantzen Midnight Glam Farrah one-piece, which features UPF 50 sun protection and has a classy, neckline that’s both extremely supportive and ultra chic.

The buttery soft bathing suit is made with supportive sewn-in cups that provide some shape to the chest, and it boasts incredible tummy control thanks to the nylon and spandex blend. (Psst...there’s plenty of coverage for the bum, too!) It even has a beautiful white portrait back with a clasp closing up top that frames your backside silhouette elegantly, and the size ranges from 4 to 18. Royally-obsessed fans, you know what to do.
