Bright and vibrant florals have always been a hallmark of spring and summer style, which is why we were delighted to see Princess Beatrice in the royal box at Wimbledon this week and absolutely nailing the trend. Her dress of choice? A lace floral shirtdress from Monique Lhuillier, $3,295. OK, so it’s on the pricier side, but very much still in stock. The good news: We were able to find plenty of reasonably priced (but still royal-feeling) alternatives.

What makes Beatrice’s style such a stand-out? As a silhouette, the shirtdress is classic and versatile. Floral or not, we’d dub it a summer staple for many reasons—its one-and-done polish, its breezy aesthetic, but mainly its flattering shape. (The belt makes for a waist-nipping detail...and one that’s adjustable to suit a variety of body types.) Still, Bea’s choice to go with a bold floral pattern with a range of rainbow hues makes it feel fun. With her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi by her side, she made an impression—and one we’d love to style our own summer closet after.

OK, so how do you get the look? Like we said, the style from Monique Lhuillier is one-of-a-kind. But you can pull off a similar vibe with some of the choices we pulled below.

It’s the exact shirtdress worn by Beatrice—elegant and available in a midi length.

The sleeve is full-length, but the aesthetic is equally airy and bright.

This particular style isn’t a traditional shirtdress, per se, but it gives the same idea—and is a very close replica to Bea’s.

Back to Wimbledon: It can feel like a sport in itself keeping tabs on which royal faces will pop up next in the royal box. We already saw Carole Middleton. Will it be Prince William this weekend? Maybe even Princess Kate? We’ll be keeping our eyes on the ball box.
