The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s non-royal Colombia tour has officially commenced—and Meghan Markle is already dressing to impress. The pair kicked off their visit to the South American country with an official welcome at the Bogotá residence of Vice President Francia Márquez and her husband, Rafael Yerney Pinillo, with Meghan donning a navy (and sleeveless) suit jacket ($595) paired with a matching pair of cropped pants ($448), both from Veronica Beard.

The look mirrors Meghan’s recent trip to the Hamptons, where she also sported a sleeveless suit (this time from St. Agni) for an event where her attendance was thought to be American Riviera Orchard-related. (The G9 Summer Ventures Summit is a high-powered business gathering in the Hamptons, which mixes mingling and mentorship—Meghan was pictured there rubbing elbows with everyone from the founder of Spanx, Sara Blakely, to the founder of IT Cosmetics, Jamie Kern Lima.)
Back to Meghan’s Veronica Beard look in Colombia: Does this make a sleeveless suit her go-to business casual summer attire? It certainly looks professional and polished while allowing the Duchess of Sussex to beat the heat. In the case of the Orlinda Button-Front Vest, we especially love the crisp collar, gold button detailing and princess tailoring. Paired with the Arte Straight Cropped pants, the combination is elegant and cool while keeping the focus on the task at hand: her work.
Speaking of which, Prince Harry and Meghan’s visit is set to be action-packed with visits to three different locations planned (in addition to Bogotá, they’ll also make stops in Cartagena and Cali) in an effort to spotlight their Archewell Foundation work surrounding the digital world. (They recently unveiled a brand-new initiative, called the Parents Network, which supports parents whose children have been impacted by trauma derived from social media use, on CBS Sunday Morning.)
Also on the docket? A gathering with Colombia’s Invictus Games competitors. (Colombia became the first South American country to participate in the Games last year.)
As always, in tandem with the work, we’ll be keeping an eye on the royal fashion. And just in case Meghan’s sleeveless summer suit sells out (you know it will!), we’ve pulled a couple of alternatives to keep in your back pocket.
1. Reformation Aspen Linen Top
Reformation
OK, so it doesn’t come with a matching pant, but the vest is a near-exact match to Meghan’s.
2. Banana Republic Siena Italian Wool Vest & Pant
Banana Republic
The vest is slightly more cropped, but the vibe is the same.
