Three lululemon looks that nail the balletcore fashion trend.

We can name a few fashion trends that have dominated 2024 so far (ahem, the mob wife aesthetic and cowboy core), but TBH, most of 'em won't even make it into summer (because, uh, it'll be way too hot to wear vintage fur!). When it comes to the lingering balletcore trend, however, the soft, airy and feminine style philosophy is still going strong. And we're not the only ones who think so. Our favorite brands have been stepping up with pieces that nail the dancer look, and yes, that includes our athleisure go-to, lululemon! From buttery-soft bodysuits to breezy wide-leg pants, the retailer just released a slew of new styles that'll have you hitting your barre class (or brunch spot) in style.

But First, What Is the Balletcore Fashion Trend?

Simply put, the balletcore aesthetic marries the effortlessness of athleisure with the elegance of a ballerina during dance rehearsals. We actually called the trend way back in 2021, when it was all about wearing cozy, adjustable knits and easy flats with the rest of our quarantine uniforms. Three years later, that's still mostly true, except we can dress up in soft pastels, airy materials and simple silhouettes far beyond the couch. Because unlike some other fashion trends, balletcore is *incredibly* versatile and functional, which is why we aren't too surprised that lululemon is giving it a go with its newest dance class-worthy arrivals.

Now that you know the basics of the trend, which isn't going anywhere anytime soon, you're ready to start shopping! Here are seven new lululemon styles that are the blueprint of balletcore.

It's no secret that ballerinas live in leotards, so this sleek piece is a must. It's made from lululemon's ultra-soft Nulu fabric (a blend of nylon and Lycra elastane), which is designed to be stretchy, sweat-wicking and quick-drying. In fact, the brand thought of everything when designing it, from including *double layers* for optimal coverage to giving the side seams a subtle curve to accentuate your figure. The material is also meant to provide some light compression to perfectly contour your bod. Just note that it has a thong-style bottom, and some reviewers say it runs small, so you may want to size up for a comfier fit.

According to lululemon shoppers, these wide leg pants are so light and breezy you'll have no issues wearing them into the warm weather. That said, they're made of a lightweight, stretchy *and* sweat-wicking polyester and elastane blend you can move around in while keeping cool. Plus, they have a relaxed fit that should be roomy through the glutes and thighs, providing a nice drape that looks as good as it feels. At 32 inches long, the pants are meant to "puddle at your shoes," but reviewers say they do hit a bit higher on the ankle for taller gals. Nevertheless, they're fabulously functional thanks to a hidden drawcord at the waist and zippered hand pockets with a hidden card sleeve. No wonder buyers say they've been wearing them from work to workouts with ease.

Yes, you can start pulling off the balletcore fashion trend simply by scooping up an airy T-shirt you can practice your swan arms in. This slightly sheer mesh number totally hits the mark, not least of all because it's so lightweight that you might forget you're wearing it. But don't just take our word for it. One reviewer raves, "I sized up based on the reviews, and I love it! Super lightweight fabric and the cut is really flattering." BTW, the waist-length top is made of recycled polyester and is treated with No-Stink Zinc to help prevent odor-causing bacteria from forming while you get your sweat on.

While this *machine-washable* jacket was designed specifically for running, we wouldn't blame you if you bought it just to get the ballerina off-duty look. It has a bunch of retro-sporty elements (like an elastic hem and gathered cuffs) that give it a bomber jacket look perfect for wearing to and from your workout studio. But here's why one buyer is obsessed with the laid-back layer: "The fit and cut is flattering enough so you could wear it with some trousers or linen pants and look sharp, sort of a '70s tracksuit fit! Love!"

lululemon added more pockets to these trendy cargo bottoms, so they may just become your go-tos when you're working from home, running errands or casually working out. Not only do they have a stretchy, ribbed waistband that stays put thanks to an adjustable drawcord, they also feature cinchable hems that you can pull in at your ankles to achieve a jogger-like look, making 'em extra versatile. The best part, however, might be the style's "lighter-than-air Swift fabric" that supposedly strikes the perfect balance between stretchy and flowy, so you never feel restricted. What more can a ballerina ask for? (P.S. The brand recommends sizing down if you want a less relaxed fit.)

This long-sleeve shirt has mesh fabric panels for prime breathability, so you can bet it'll keep you cool through sweaty workouts, but we'll let one buyer explain: "I love this long-sleeve [top] for running days where temps are cool and crisp but not frigid. It’s the perfect weight and allows enough air to flow through." Several reviewers have also mentioned that the nylon and elastane material looks and feels like silk, so you can wear it for more than just workouts. So, as another shopper says, "Not only is [this top] flattering but so feminine. The details are numerous, and the sleeves accent your arms beautifully."

This flouncy tennis skirt may not technically be a tutu, but you'll certainly want to twirl around in it all spring and summer long. With its petite pleats, built-in shorts and high waist, it's as pretty as it is poised for movement. It's got hidden pockets on the liner *and* silicone grippers on the hem that keep it from riding up, plus, its smooth nylon and Lycra elastane blend fabric is designed to stay cool and dry. Since reviewers also can't stop raving about how flattering it is, you might want to snag one in all of its *seven* colors.
