It’s not every day you can buy a pair of jeans online in the sale section without trying them on, and end up falling in love with them. I’m here to tell you that the Levi's Dad Jeans are that good.
Here’s how we met: I saw them in the Shopbop sale section. They were unassuming; a basic, medium wash and hight-waisted loose cut that’s pretty much de rigueur these days (hence the dad-jean moniker). But unlike the rest of the sale items, they were marked down to a decent $68, so of course I clicked further. Lo and behold, the website told me there was only one pair left…and it happened to be in my size. It had to be fate, right? With average expectations (but also the thrill of buying the very last of the stock), I added them to my cart and immediately checked out.
When the jeans arrived in the mail a few days later, I was excited…but nervous. Would they be too baggy in the thighs yet too small in the waist? True to size, or comically ill-fitting? Had I set myself up for a trip to the post office to make a return? When I tried them on, I was pleasantly surprised. No, I was smitten. The jeans were just the right amount of baggy through the leg with a slim-fitting high waist to keep things from looking shapeless. And miraculously, they retained that classic Levi’s trait of making your butt look great even with the loose fit. For that reason, I’m convinced they would look good on anyone. They’re sold out on Shopbop (sorry!) but Levi’s still has the same pair online.
To be completely honest, I wore the jeans for six days straight after first trying them on. I only gave them a break today so my co-workers wouldn’t notice and you know I’ll be donning them again tomorrow.
