3 Outfits We Can’t Wait to Copy This Spring

Fashion ruts. They happen to the best of us. One day we’re strutting to the office in a cleverly belted cardigan and flowy midi skirt, and the next we’re in an oversize turtleneck and jeans (okay, the next five). How to get out of said rut? The arrival of spring lookbooks is a good place to start. We’re taking our inspiration straight from Lily Aldridge in the new Lauren Ralph Lauren campaign. See what she’s donning below and take notes, whether your spring plans involve a warm-weather getaway or simply a fresh update to your white jeans.

Denim + Denim

Since we’re trying to break the monotony here, denim on denim is a great place to start. But instead of the typical chambray shirt and blue jeans, try pairing your white jeans with a belted denim trench. (It’s a fresh upgrade from classic khaki.) We’re also big fans of the unbuttoned button-down that adds a layer of interest to an otherwise standard ’fit.

Striped Blazer + Striped Button-down

Another out-of-the-box idea? Stripes on stripes. Choose well-tailored pieces and make sure your stripes are two different sizes to prevent the look from appearing too costume-y. In this case, spacing them out on the blazer compliments the tighter lines on the button-down. Finish it off with a new pair of clean white denim.

One-shoulder Dress

Not an outfit, per se, but the one-shoulder dress is making a comeback for 2019. The style draws the eye up and highlights the shoulders and collarbone, making it an effortlessly flattering silhouette. Your need for an evening gown might not be immediate, but the price and timeless appeal make this piece hard to pass up.
