Whether she's ditching ballet flats for grandpa sandals or putting her own spin on trendy motifs, Katie Holmes is the ultimate cool-girl fashion darling—and she has been since her Dawson’s Creek days. One of her latest style endeavors? Effortlessly rocking a chic-but-cozy sherpa coat to take on the brutal NYC winter weather this month. While admiring her fuzzy, fur-trimmed statement-maker, I couldn't help but think back to the last season of Emily in Paris, as Emily Cooper and co. notably embraced sherpa styles in every form (and totally turned it into one of fall/winter's biggest trends). But while Emily’s looks steered toward rustic, après-ski vibes, Holmes gave her sherpa coat a city-slicker twist by opting for sleek black leather version.

Since I've been daydreaming about Holmes's coat since I saw the paparazzi pics, I couldn't help but scour the web to find a few lookalikes within my price range. After all, we've got plenty of chilly days ahead (here on the east coast, at least), and I have a feeling this Katie- (and Emily-) approved look won't soon go out of style. Care to join me in copying her style? Read on!

While a slight departure from Holmes's style with its rich dark brown hue, this faux shearling coat steals the show while also giving you a wide range of versatility. You can go for an elevated look by pairing it over a sweater dress, or take it down a more casual route by wearing over a turtleneck and jeans for your daily Starbucks run in the city. The dramatic lapel collar gives it a certain je ne sais quoi, and you can certainly take advantage of the front button closure to keep you cozy.

Straight from my Katie Holmes style mood board is this luxe-looking number from Stand Studio, which features a similar black-and-white color scheme and fluffy trim. It has a boxy silhouette, patch pockets in the front and a snap placket to keep you plenty warm as you trek through the harsh temps. And if that isn’t enough, there’s also the major 60 percent discount that knocks it down from $725 to $290. Run, don’t walk.

You can never go wrong with a wrap coat! Perfect for winter, this one separates itself from the pack with its ultra-flattering tie-waist design that helps give some definition to your waist. Another bonus? It’s also machine-washable, meaning no extra trips to the cleaners. The fact that it comes in at less than $150 is just the cherry on top.

Give me a sherpa but make it reversible, please and thank you. A reversible coat is a must-have in any girl's capsule wardrobe, and this one can be your new go-to for winter. Featuring all the elements of a classic sherpa, it boasts a spread collar, long fleece-lined sleeves to assist in keeping you cozy and a button closure you can take advantage of on days where it’s really frosty. Flip it inside out, and now you have a luxurious all-white statement piece that looks like a brand new coat altogether (and one that more closely resembles Emily Cooper's). Talk about the best of both worlds.
