Truth be told, I spotted Julia Roberts’s husband Danny Moder first in the Royal Box. He looked dashing and smart in a well-tailored suit as Kate Middleton made her grand entrance ahead of the men’s finals at Wimbledon on Sunday, a major moment for the Princess of Wales given it was only her second official appearance of the year. But as it turns out Kate wasn’t the only style queen in the box: Roberts was of course right by Moder’s side and, ever since, I can’t get her crisp white Gucci tennis dress ($2,650) out of my head. (Don’t worry, we found a few more affordable options, too, like this sleek style from Tuckernuck, $128.)
Julia Roberts Nailed ‘Tenniscore’ at Wimbledon—Here’s Why Her Outfit Is One I Want to Replicate
Love the bag, love the dress, love everything

But it wasn’t just her dress. Roberts—who is currently in London to work on her next film, After the Hunt—paired the tennis-inspired style with a bright orange top handle bag (also from Gucci, $3,190) and a pair of black oversized sunglasses (similar here from Krewe, $325) and, in my book, absolutely nailed tenniscore.
Because here’s the thing: As a woman in her early 40s, I’ve occasionally felt like the posh, preppy, athletic-inspired trend isn’t something I can actually pull off. Pish posh, Julia Roberts just elegantly demonstrated as she sat center court, watching Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic face off.
Her white dress was just the right amount of flattering without being too figure-hugging; her bold bag and shades subtly nodding to the colors of the dress’s trim while making the look a sartorial showstopper, even in the presence of Kate.
Now, the fun part: Carrying Roberts’s style into your own closet. I’ve found a few tennis dresses that mirror the same tone and vibe.
1. Pomander Place Gardenia Hart Shirtdress
Tuckernuck
This style comes with similar lines—and just as much prep.
2. Tory Burch Tech Knit Tennis Dress
Tory Burch
This dress is slightly more fitted, but still just as breezy and unique.
3. Tuckernuck Pink Salt Hutton Polo Dress
Tuckernuck
It’s the delicate hint of pink that makes this style such a stand-out.
Now, a bit more about the movie that Roberts is in town to film. It happens to be directed by Luca Guadagnino, the same director behind the critically acclaimed (and tennis-focused) film Challengers.
Worlds colliding? We think so.
