Gabrielle Union brought ’70s disco to the 38th Film Independent Spirit Awards red carpet, totally surprising us with yet another killer look.

The 50-year-old star was nominated for Best Supporting Performance thanks to her part in The Inspection, and she certainly looked the part of a winner (even though the prize ultimately went to Ke Huy Quan for his performance in Everything Everywhere All at Once). The Bring It On alum showed up in a bright purple two-piece set from Gucci that was covered in disc sequins.

Union was styled by Thomas Christos Kikis in the glitzy ensemble, which included a large purple blazer with black lapels and a matching skirt that featured a wide slit up the left thigh. The eye-popping outfit was paired with jewelry from Mouawad and black platform heels from Gucci.

The 10 Things I Hate About You star showed off the look on her Instagram, where she posed alongside her husband (and her dapper date for the night), Dwyane Wade. “Letting the spirit use me tonight! #IndieSpiritAwards,” Union wrote in her caption.

Union's slideshow not only featured Wade and her stylist, but also other members of her glam squad, including hairstylist Larry Jarah Sims and makeup artist Fiona Stiles.

Wade himself sported a Gucci ensemble, which included a gray pinstripe blazer over a white turtleneck and navy pants (styled by Jason Bolden). He accessorized with an elegant gold watch from Cartier.
