Express Has a New Look, and We Need to Talk About It

You know Express: It’s the store you love for trends that feel accessible and basics that feel special. There’s never been a time we’ve wandered in and not wanted to try on a tweed blazer or a sheer-sleeve top. But do you know the *new* Express? They've launched four new collections for spring that are all about comfort, versatility and feeling confident, whether you're ready to put on real clothes again or still love being able to lounge on the couch all weekend long. The new collections include Body Contour essentials, Modular Suiting, Knit Comfort Denim and Silky Sueded Jersey—and the hardest part of your day will be deciding which to try on first.

Side note: They’ve also launched their Dream Big Project, an ongoing fundraising initiative to empower people to follow their dreams. And now you can shop their site using Klarna, so you can spread the cost of your purchase over time with convenient, stress-free payment options.

The best part? Express is now offering 10% off your next purchase (exclusions apply, see site). Here, our favorite items from the new Express.

1. Body Contour Essentials

Shapewear and body contour clothing is no longer a secret garment hiding beneath a dress or top. Express’s new collection of comfy, confidence-boosting base layers is made to be seen. These tanks, tees and bodysuits define, smooth and sculpt your silhouette and can be worn by themselves or under a double-breasted blazer with distressed denim.

2. Comfort Denim

Speaking of denim... The transition from sweatpants back to jeans is going to be a tough one, but Express makes it easy with their knit comfort denim. These jeans are co-created with customers so that they pass all the tests: no waist gaps, plenty of stretch that won’t wear out and lots of on-trend styles. Our favorite? The raw hem cropped flares. Or the button-fly skinnies. Or… OK, who said we had to pick just one?

3. Mix + Match Suiting

This brand-new collection might be our favorite, because while it's easy to rock a pair of super-comfy jeans, we haven't given anything but T-shirts and sweatshirts a glance in over a year. For days when you actually have to go in public (or make an impression via Zoom) there’s double-breasted and boyfriend-cut blazers with shiny gold buttons, an A-line miniskirt with pockets and business casual trousers with an elastic waistband, all ready to be mixed and matched. Sorry, favorite-hoodie-with-iced-coffee-stains (we still love you).

4. Jersey Loungewear

Don't get us wrong: We're still all about comfort. But when temps crest 90, our sweatpants are no longer an option. Enter: silky sueded jersey, our new go-to for summer loungewear. The fabric, which is soft and breathable, can be machine washed and has the tiniest hint of sheen, and most bottoms come with pockets (did we mention we love pockets?), so your hardest decision will be which style to pick first. Now, the choice of whether to dress up that jersey jumpsuit with heeled sandals and a clutch or lounge on the couch watching Netflix: Totally up to you.
