1. FP Movement Hit the Slopes Printed Pullover
“It may be kind of boring but I love me a cozy pullover,” says managing editor Catrina Yohay. “Come fall, I live in all things cozy and this pullover by FP Movement has that effortless throw-on-and-go cool girl vibe I'm forever chasing. The fit is loose but ever so slightly cropped, so I can be comfy without feeling like a total slob. Plus, the prints are so fun and retro (like old-school Patagonia) and I loveee that it has pockets.”
2. Brandon Blackwood Syl Bag
Associate editor Chelsea Candelario plans to add a fresh pop of color to her fall wardrobe. “I’m excited to upgrade my bag collection for fall and this Brandon Blackwood style will be a great addition. It’s small, cute and super chic. I already rock my Telfar mini bag everywhere, so I can definitely see this handbag making an appearance all season long.”
3. & Other Stories Bouclé Knit Sweater and Skirt + Boden High-Waist Shorts
“I already bought this sweater and skirt set to wear for welcome drinks before my October wedding,” says Pam Masin, affiliate strategy director, “and I seriously can’t wait.” As for more everyday pieces, she’s also investing in an unconventional fall bottom: shorts. “I also recently bought these corduroy shorts, which I feel like are a nice transition item to wear with a sweater and high boots, and even tights under when it gets chillier.”
4. Kate Spade New York Sam Leather Mini Bag + Kule Modern Long Tee
“To be honest there are about 600 things I want to buy this fall,” admits editor Abby Hepworth. “These Tanya Taylor pants, this Rhode dress, this Strathberry bag, the list goes on and on. But realistically the two pieces I’m most likely to actually purchase and wear are this mini handbag and this striped tee. I cannot get over that stunning green hue—it’ll look gorgeous with both neutrals and brighter pieces. As for the top, stripes are my absolute go-to when I can’t decide what to wear and I adore this nostalgic color combo. But, of course, it also comes in every other color a gal could want, which means I’m going to have a really hard time picking just one.”
5. Intimately Clean Lines Cami + Jeffrey Campbell Dagget Western Boots
Commerce editor Olivia Kappler says she’s going all in on super sleek, chic basics this fall. “White tanks are '90s minimalist at its finest, and just a great staple to have in general. I've gone through two recently that have worn out from pilling and thinning. But this one has a nice buttery soft fabric that will keep its shape and not pill through countless washes.” That said, she also can’t resist a little something funky to add to the mix. “I’m dying to get these black cowboy boots by Jeffrey Campbell. They're so on trend and I love the detail. I picture myself wearing them with an oversized jean jacket and a basic white T-shirt to make them the star of the show.”
6. Alexander Wang Falling Back Logo-Print Denim Jacket
Beauty director Jenny Jin found her fall fashion inspiration in a rather unexpected place. “I saw a girl wearing this jacket at the airport recently and I can’t get it out of my mind. She’s petite like I am and wore it oversized with some Dunks and she just looked so comfy, which is all I aspire to lately.”
7. & Other Stories Oversize Belted Coat
“I have a bit of an outerwear obsession,” says senior food editor Katherine Gillen, “and nothing eases me into the chillier seasons like being swaddled in a coat—the bigger, the better. I usually look for pieces that are 100 percent natural fibers, and even though this one doesn’t quite fit the bill, I appreciate that the wool meets the certified Responsible Wool Standard for a more eco-friendly touch.”
8. ALO Courtside Tennis Dress + Dorsey
“All I want this fall is a stylish workout dress,” Roberta Fiorito, senior editor branded content, says. “Really I’m in love with this Reformation style, but it’s always sold out. So instead I’m deciding between one from lululemon and one from ALO. I plan to wear it under a chunky sweater with high socks for brisk walks or leaf-peeping in the park.” She also has her eyes on a gorgeous lab-grown sapphire necklace by Dorsey should she decide to make the splurge. “I learned about Dorsey from stylist and WSJ fashion director Becky Malinsky in her 5 Things You Should Buy e-newsletter and now I can’t stop thinking about it. I’d love to wear one with a white tee and blazer for fall or with a plunging V-neck dress at a winter wedding.”
9. Anine Bing Sport Harvey Sweatshirt
Finding a sweatshirt that’s comfy and chic is a tall order, but commerce director Nicole Briese may just have found her Holy Grail in this Anine Bing number. “I’m waiting for this bad boy to go on sale, but one of my favorite influencers, Madison Messer, says it’s super soft and definitely worth the splurge.”
10. Schutz Maryana Block Boots
“I’ve had my eyes on these babies for a week and just need to do it already!” says assistant editor Stephanie Meraz. “I’ve been loving the knee-high boot trend, and these brown croc-embossed are the perfect way to transition that summer trend to fall.”
11. Ganni Medium Baguette Shoulder Bag
“I saw a version of this bag in a Vogue video with Gen Z icon Emma Chamberlain and fell in love immediately,” says senior editor Sarah Stiefvater. “My ideal bag has a top handle and crossbody strap for versatility and can provide a slight pop of color amid my all-black wardrobe. (I’m particularly obsessed with dark greens right now, and this nylon style is a more casual option when I don’t feel like carrying my beloved A.P.C. Demi-Lune in a forest hue.) This one is a no-brainer.”
12. Madewell Petite Harlow Wide-Leg Pants
Senior editor Dana Dickey plans to think beyond denim for her fall outfit planning. “These Madewell wide-leg pants are going to be so cute with a long-sleeve T-shirt or tissue turtleneck. Or maybe with a strappy tank and jacket for dinner out.”
