It’s barely mid-September and we have to express our deep gratitude to Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, who continues to serve up stylish—and attainable—fall fashion that we’re confident would look great in our closet, too. The latest? This stunning tie-neck blouse from Frame, $378, available in a rich burgundy hue (the official shade is “wine”). Sophie wore it for an event with the British Fashion Council in London and now we can’t stop thinking about it. The good news: Her exact same shirt is still in stock.

Sophie chose this particular style for an occasion tied to London Fashion Week, taking place this week. On behalf of the British Fashion Council, she was on hand at Burlington House to present menswear designer Steven Stokey Daley with the Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design in 2024. (Queen Elizabeth first presented the award, which recognizes the role the fashion industry plays in society and spotlights talented young designers, in 2018.)
No wonder Sophie looked so sharp: Her Frame blouse—in combination with her Alina mid-rise wool trousers from Victoria Beckham, $850—offered the perfect combination of easy (and understated) elegance for the event. And the tailoring on her entire ensemble is what the royals consistently do so well.
Speaking of Frame, it happens to be a brand beloved by not just Sophie, but several other members of the royal family—Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle included. Both women have relied on their denim collection over the years in a variety of silhouettes.
As usual, we love seeing Sophie continue to take such a front-facing role within the monarchy—her efforts were posted not only by the British Fashion Council, but on the Royal Family’s Instagram account, too.
Now, if you need us, we’ll be contemplating all the ways a wine-colored blouse will be a style workhorse in our fall wardrobe.
