Earlier today, Duchess Sophie, one of the most stylish members of the royal family, partook in the Buddy Dogs Family Event at the Guide Dogs UK Centre. While attending, she met some lovable pooches, chatted with kids at the event and even rolled up her sleeves to do some baking. The duchess looked absolutely stunning in an all-black outfit, and is it just me, or does her monochrome ensemble (with a touch of purple and green florals) remind you of the whimsigoth trend that we spotted earlier this month? Either way, I'm absolutely loving the mix of casual and more elevated pieces, like her black suede boots. I was able to find some lookalikes—see this pair from Sam Edelman ($200)—to shop to replicate the royal's impeccable style.

Though this monochrome moment is a bit of a departure from some of Duchess Sophie's more recognizable pops of color, like her powder blue coat or her blue head piece and yellow dress combo that we covered earlier this fall, just because something is understated, doesn't mean that it doesn't scream style. Personally, I really love her '90s callback with the swishy maxi skirt paired with tall black suede riding boots and a blazer. It feels very Phoebe from Friends. In addition, she carried a black clutch adorned with a crimson poppy, and donned a pair of silver earrings. Of course I needed to include a pair of boots from a PW fav brand, Sam Edelman. The sophisticated black suede boot has a tapered pointed toe, a fitted design, a luxurious leather upper and a thick block heel. The cream colored outer sole adds some definition to the shoe and really mimics the look of Duchess Sophie's boot which appears to have a baby pink bottom.
