Brat has entered the chat—and our shopping carts. Sparked by Charli XCX’s newest lime-green emblazoned album entitled brat, bratcore is 2024's response to last summer's Barbiecore. Where once there were seas of hot pink, now we're embracing a Wicked Witch of the West green, living our most unapologetic, edgy, self-assured, messy, main character lives. It's so the thing of summer that even Kamala Harris's campaign adopted the aesthetic (see: low-res Arial text on green background) on their official X account. So I decided to round up the best, grossest chartreuse fashion and beauty so that you, too, can live your wildest brat dreams. Embrace the minuscule silhouettes, wear the bright ‘look at me’ colors and try on that don’t give two sh*ts attitude for wear.

One of the hallmarks of bratcore is wearing unique shapes and cuts of clothing. Halter tops are one of the easiest ways of dipping into the trend. This cotton button-front Reformation halter is the perfect shade of chartreuse and would pair best with a pair of oversized baggy black jeans or an itty bitty mini skirt a la Julia Fox.

Dr. Marten's punk heritage and rejection of social norms encapsulates the core of brat culture. These light lime green tube socks have banded white and black stripes featuring the Dr. Marten's logo wrapped around the ankles. Pair with a lower cut Chelsea boot or sharp loafer for an extra edge.

Though Kate Spade is is known for a more sophisticated, preppier-leaning aesthetic, some of the brand's recent green releases would make a great addition to any brat outfit. The Double Up Patent Crossbody is made of patent Saffiano leather and has a Faille lining. It features a a magnetic snap closure, three card slots, a detachable pouch and a removable crossbody strap.

As the weather gets chillier and I transition my wardrobe from summer to fall, I find myself opting for a variety of different shoe options, particularly Chelsea-style rain boots like these Merry People Bobbi Ankle Rain Boots. They are sturdy, waterproof, flexible in the ankle (due to the neoprene lining), 100 percent vegan, loaded with arch support and have a 12-month warranty. Not to mention they come in the most delightful shade of grasshopper green, perfect for any autumnal brat.

Slip on these lime green chunky sandal mules and tease a little skin. Ideal for showing off a matching pedicure, this eye-catching shoe has striking cross-strap detailing, rubber footbed, lining, upper, and sole and is capped off with a trendy square toe. It's giving bratcore Barbie.

You'll be looking SO Julia Fox, basically THE celeb ambassador of bratcore, in the lyrics, in these bright green oval cat eye shades. The Stanton style is crafted with polycarbonate, polarized lenses which act to eliminate reflective light, decreasing the amount of glare and increasing visual clarity. The lenses are a triple threat. They're 100 percent UV protected, FDA approved and impact resistant.

Nothing says boss b*tch like suit separates. Wildfang, a gender-inclusive and sustainable clothing brand, is known for their ability to craft blazers, vests, trousers and more, keeping things like pockets and boob gaps in mind. While I own a handful of Wildfang’s items, there’s nothing I love more than a good tailored vest. Especially as we see going out tops on the rise and brands like Thom Browne paving the way for androgynous suiting. The Essential Vest is fitted through the body with a full-coverage V-neck, two functional pockets and full stretch lining. Made with 98 percent cotton and 2 percent elastane, this vibrant, pickle-colored vest (+ matching slim crop pants!!) is a brat wardrobe must-have! Plus, the brand just did a major collab with Debbie Harry for goodness sake. You just gotta check them out.

about face Matte Fluid Eye Paint has lasted the test of time. We reviewed it back in 2022 and it's still holding strong--no really, the formula doesn't budge or smudge once dried. It's 100 percent vegan and the color pay-off packs a punch, making way for flawless bold, statement eye looks. I loved the Vertigo Flowers shade so much that I bought myself a tube. It goes on like a dream and is incredibly buildable.

Line your lids with a swipe of the Haus Labs Optic Intensity for—you guessed it, instant intensity. The vegan formula is creamy and gel-like making for smooth and easy application. Plus, it's cruelty free. The striking lemon-lime shade is just as unique as it is unconventional. It's daring, exciting and totally unexpected. Swap out your normal funky shades like navies, purples and emeralds for something brighter and flashier. Bratcore *is* all about making a splash.

Known for its multi-use abilities, the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil can be used all over your lids, whether it's to precisely line your eyes or to swipe on as a shadow. You might even be able to diffuse and fan it out to use as a highlighter.
