Years ago, I used to wish my B-cup boobs weren’t so…small, but as I learned to love my body, I realized that having a smaller chest was nothing to be ashamed of—and it certainly didn’t make me any less of a woman. In fact, I’ve come to realize that those of us with small boobs can pull off wearing more daring bikini tops and one-pieces than our bigger bosomed friends, from plunging necklines to bustier tops and more. But that doesn’t mean every style will be the most flattering swimsuit for a smaller chest. I’ve tried on my fair share of bikinis that made my boobs look as flat as a plank of wood or sad and limp, but I’ve also found those holy-grail styles that can take them from murky to perky. That’s why it’s crucial to always consider bathing suits specifically designed for your body, whether that’s swimsuits for long torsos, petite swimsuits or swimsuits for wide hips. In order to pin down the absolute best swimsuits for small busts, I asked a few experts for their advice and scoured swimsuits at Target, J.Crew and all the stores to find 25 silhouettes that are guaranteed to compliment your gals beautifully, whether you’re working with Bs, As or even AAs.

Having had a flat, small chest my entire life, I’ve had years of experience pinning down specific styles that flatter, suit and complement my boobs, including supportive options that offer moderate to full coverage to more revealing options that give the girls a little lift for show. In addition to including some of my favorite bathing suits that I own, I also chatted with fashion experts at Kitty & Vibe, Andie Swim and Aerie for advice on swimsuit styles that look best on women with small boobs. Additionally, when vetting the top picks, I considered the comfortability of the design and materials, opted for items with an inclusive size range and picks for every budget. • Tie-front tops: A good rule of thumb if you want to give your bust a little boost is to look for tops with extra detailing. Not one for ruffles, fringe or other extras? There is one minimalist-approved style that will provide the same effect: tie-front tops. These simple silhouettes have just enough detail to add interest up top without feeling too fussy.
• Plunging, deep V-necklines: “Low-cut necklines are a great option for small busts because you don't have to be as concerned with spillage,” says Armstrong. The V-shape also gives a boost to whatever cup size you’re working with, unlike scoop necks or bandeau styles.
• Triangle tops in bold patterns: As mentioned above, a V-neckline can give the illusion of a larger bust, and adding an attention-grabbing pattern can amplify that effect. “Look for suits that add some POW!,” advises Collins-Rittling. “[A daring triangle top] is a great option that combines a flattering shape, a bold print and a crossover band—all of which will look fabulous on smaller chests,” she adds.
• Bandeau tops: Not everyone with smaller boobs wants to make them look larger, and for those women I suggest taking full advantage of a classic bandeau style. According to Copelman, many of the Andie’s bandeau styles have been major hits amongst customers with smaller chests. “We've gotten great feedback from our customers with smaller busts. They love that they can wear [bandeau] tops with and without detachable straps without fear of the dreaded top-slip." And if you do want to give your gals some extra oomph, try bandeaus with ruching at the center, ruffle details or other attention-grabbing detailing.
