Margot Robbie’s ‘Barbie’ Outfits Are Inspired by Iconic Dolls—Here’s Every Look

1. Picnic Barbie

It’s a herculean task to pick the most iconic outfit Margot Robbie wears as Barbie, but we think this sweet combo might just come out on top. Feel free to swap her signature pumps for a comfier white sneaker, and add a pink cardigan (or classic denim jacket) if the weather turns chilly. Just don’t forget the daisy necklace and matching earrings.

2. Cowgirl Barbie

Hi Howdy, Barbie! Don’t stress over finding an exact match for Robbie’s denim ensemble. As long as you’ve got a cowboy hat, matching bandana and can-do attitude, you’re sure to embody the Cowgirl Barbie spirit.

3. Comfy Barbie

We’re not exactly eager to copy Kate McKinnon’s Barbie hairdo this Halloween, but we wouldn’t mind borrowing those comfortable Birkenstock sandals from her wardrobe. Pair a roomy tent dress with supportive, podiatrist-approved sandals to celebrate Barbie in the most comfortable way possible.

4. Sporty Barbie

OK, so maybe you should skip the roller blades and knee pads if you’re headed to the movie theater. But spandex shorts and a colorful bodysuit make for a pretty comfy costume in our opinion. (P.S. Toss an on-theme pink sweatshirt over the top if you get cold.)

5. Disco Barbie

Be sure to heat up that curling iron to get Barbie’s va-va-voom disco ’do, then slip into a sparkly one-piece and some platforms to get your boogie on. Have some fun breaking from the pink masses with silver, gold or white and a subtle pink lip, or go for broke in a hot pink sequin stunner—the world is your glitter-covered oyster.

6. Day-to-Night Barbie

President Barbie is a busy woman, so she knows the power of a chic dress that can work for any occasion. And while this may not be a character costume, you can still follow Issa Rae’s lead and slip into a comfy-yet-sexy fitted maxi that only requires a change of accessories to take you from relaxing at the movie theater to laughing over drinks at the bar.

7. Maximalist Barbie

There’s really no need to ration your pink-hued clothing when wandering into Barbieland. So go forth and layer your favorite blazer over a maxi dress or pair pastel jeans with a matching button-up and knit pullover, and, of course, be sure to cap it all off with shoes and a bag to fit the theme.

8. Polka Dot Barbie

She wore an itsy-bisty, teeny-weeny, pink polka dot mini dress—and it was incredibly chic. The sweet pattern combined with a sexy silhouette form the ultimate frock. Be sure to add in some extra hints of color to really make your look pop like Robbie’s.

9. Elle Woods Barbie

Elle Woods and Barbie have both taught us skirt suits and blazers needn’t always come in conservative neutrals. Embrace your inner office Barbie with a tailored set featuring traditional silhouettes in bright, playful shades of pink.

10. Cozy Barbie

Let’s be honest, movie theaters are a welcome relief from summer’s heat...for about 15 minutes. Then, they’re freezing. Go the cozy route for your next showing (or for a pink Halloween) with some faux fur and long sleeves.

11. OG Barbie

Even if pink isn’t really your thing, you can still get in on the Barbielicious fun. Honor one of Barbie’s earliest fashion moments with a black-and-white mini, sleek cat-eye sunglasses and a high ponytail that’s curled to perfection.

Sometimes the best way to honor an influential woman is by honoring her best accessory. Hey, if it’s good Kenough for Ryan Gosling, then it’s good enough for us.
