Margot Robbie Ditches Barbie Pink for Big Oscars Night

but she's still ready to party

Ever since the early days of the Barbie press circuit, there was a heavy bet titular star and producer Margot Robbie would show up in some shade of pink. (That, or a Barbie-inspired look.) From Armani Privé at the 2024 Golden Globes to Vivienne Westwood at the movie's London premiere and Versace in Seoul, the motto has been think pink. And if it wasn't pink, it was inspired by the doll's iconic wardrobe, like the Schiaparelli stunner Robbie wore to the movie's Los Angeles premiere. But at the 2024 Oscars, the actress and producer (who was famously snubbed for a Best Actress nod) eschewed the doll's classic style, opting for a simple (but shimmering) strapless black gown instead.

The dress comes from Versace's fall/winter 2024 ready-to-wear collection, and features a metallic shimmer and draping around the waist. Aside from a sparkling, twisted gold cuff, Robbie kept the rest of her look simple with natural hair and makeup.

Though she isn't nominated for Best Actress, Barbie is up for Best Picture, Best Writing, Best Supporting Actor (Ryan Gosling) and Best Supporting Actress (America Ferrera). Of the snub, Robbie said, “There’s no way to feel sad when you know you’re this blessed,” during a special SAG screening in January, per Deadline.

Come on, Barbie. Let's go win some Oscars.
