This Is the Average Hourly Rate for Babysitters in the U.S.

babysitting rates national average

Gird your wallets: UrbanSitter just released a report of the babysitting rates in every major U.S. city for 2019 and—as any parent with dreams of a weekly date night can probably predict—it's not cheap.

According to the report, which polled 28,000 families across the country, the national average for an hourly sitter is $16.75 for one kid, $19.26 for two kids and $20.76 for three kids.

It could be worse: As expensive as the national average sounds, you could live in San Francisco, where it costs $21.30 an hour to hire a babysitter for just two kids. (Yikes.)

That said, can you really put a price on a much needed sanity break from the kids wine?
