Pastel-colored (and chalky-tasting) conversation hearts may be synonymous with Valentine’s Day, but we want something better. Introducing the “Love Bug”: the cutest classroom valentine who’s sure to melt hearts, one HERSHEY’S KISSES chocolate at a time. We already know your kids will love these, so check out the step-by-step instructions below.
What you’ll need: HERSHEY’S KISSES chocolate, large pompoms, felt hearts, sparkly pipe cleaners, googly eyes and a hot glue gun
Step 1: Using the hot glue gun, secure one large pompom on top of the “pointy” side of the felt heart. The top of the heart makes for the little “Love Bug” feet.
Step 2: Take two sparkly pipe cleaners and form small hearts on one end. Dab a bit of hot glue on the straight end and attach it to the pompom. Hello, antennae.
Step 3: Give your “Love Bug” a face by adding a pair of googly eyes.
Step 4: Wrap a sparkly pipe cleaner around the top of a HERSHEY’S KISSES chocolate and form a curve. Repeat to create one more. Complete your new friend by placing the HERSHEY’S KISSES chocolate on the felt heart “foot” and adjust the “arms” to reach around to the sides of the pompom.
